Green Settlement

Green settlement is a concept that aims to adopt and give importance to an environmentally friendly lifestyle in a settlement. In these settlements, it is aimed to protect nature and the environment, to save energy, to increase sustainability and quality of life. Green settlements often include green spaces, design features for energy conservation, sustainable transportation systems, and nature conservation measures. These placements may be attractive to firms that have adopted an eco-friendly lifestyle, but may also be attractive to non-eco-friendly firms because they generally have a higher quality of life.

A Green settlement certificate is a document that shows that a settlement is built and managed in an environmentally friendly way. These certificates are issued by various organizations and are often used to certify that the settlement has energy conservation, water conservation, natural resource conservation, waste management and environmentally friendly transportation systems. Green settlement certificates can be used as confirmation that settlements are built and managed in an environmentally friendly way and can be attractive to companies that choose these settlements.

According to the communiqué issued on 09.06.2021 by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, “Green Certificate Implementation Communiqué for Buildings and Settlements”, with the establishment of the “National Green Certificate (YeS-TR) System for Buildings and Settlements”, energy efficient, environmentally friendly at the national and local level. Dissemination of building practices that are friendly, use less water, benefit from the geographical features of the location, promote renewable energy technologies, reduce CO2 emissions, raise awareness and capacity on energy efficiency and renewable energy, and address certification criteria in order to encourage the construction of sustainable buildings, country-specific, brand It will be ensured that sustainable Green Buildings and Green Settlements are created.

The nationally prepared YeS-TR system is similar to the internationally known LEED (USA), BREEAM (England), DGNB (Germany), CASBEE (Japan) and GREENSTAR (Australia) Green Certificate Systems. Applications to be made are only made through Green Certificate Experts (YESU) authorized by the Ministry.

Category Based Lending, Assessment and Integration

At the scale of Building and Settlement; categorical crediting required by the certificate categorical fields and the creation of 'measurement and evaluation / proof document' processes that are the basis for the said crediting.
