STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
The Basic Principles of the National Climate Change Strategy Document are expressed as follows:
“Turkey's main objective within the scope of the global fight against climate change is the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, in accordance with sustainable development policies, in cooperation with international parties to prevent climate change, which is the common concern of humanity, in accordance with global efforts determined with a common mind in the light of objective and scientific findings, and Turkey's to participate in accordance with the special conditions of
Turkey's Strategic Goals within the scope of basic principles are listed in the Strategy Document as follows:
• In accordance with the principle of “common but differentiated responsibilities” of the UNFCCC and within the framework of its special conditions; Incorporating climate change mitigation and adaptation policies and measures into national development plans,
• Contributing to the global policies and measures developed for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, within its own means, by limiting the rate of increase in greenhouse gas emissions, without disrupting the development program harmonized with sustainable development principles,
• To increase the level of national preparedness and capacity in order to reduce the negative effects of global climate change and adapt to these effects; To share the experience and gains gained in these efforts with the countries in the region, to adapt to the design and execution of the global strategic objectives under the main headings of mitigation, adaptation, technology transfer and financing, taking into account the responsibilities of the parties, and to play an active role in international activities,
• Increasing access to financial resources needed to carry out mitigation and adaptation activities,
• To develop research-development and innovation capacity for cleaner production, taking into account our current technology and development level, to create national and international financing resources and incentive mechanisms that will increase competition and production in this field.
• Transparent, participatory and scientific studies by providing effective and continuous coordination of activities within the scope of combating and adapting to climate change.
CONSULTING PROCESS
1) Establishment of the team related to the Climate Change workshop,
2) Organizing awareness training and workshops on Climate Change,
3) Creation of the Gantt project plan for the City's Sustainable Energy Action Plan,
4) Taking GHG emissions inventory of your city
5) Greenhouse gas reduction measures and evaluation
6) Extracting the effects and scenarios of climate change,
7) Preparing the city's adaptation plan,
8) Organizing joint workshops with different city or district municipalities,
9) Presentation of the prepared plan to the Municipal Assembly and the administration
10) Organizing sharing events with the public
